ℹ️ The recipient must have the Buckko Locks app installed and an account registered with the same email or phone.
What are the different access types for eKeys?
Permanent — No expiry. Valid until you revoke it. Best for family members or long-term tenants.

Timed — Valid within a specific date range you set. Best for Airbnb guests or short-term visitors.

What are the different passcode types?
Permanent — Works forever until deleted. Best for household members.

Timed — Works only within a specific date/time range. Best for Airbnb guests (e.g. Friday 3pm to Sunday 11am).

Recurring — Works on set days and times each week. Best for cleaners who come every Thursday.

One-time — Works once only. After it's used, the code is automatically deleted.

Tap the lock → Passcodes → swipe left on the passcode → tap Delete. The passcode stops working immediately.
How do I share a passcode with someone?
Once created, tap the passcode to view its details — you'll see the code number. You can then send it to the person via SMS, WhatsApp, or any messaging app. The person does not need the Buckko Locks app to use a passcode — they just type it on the lock's keypad.
💡 Passcodes are great for cleaners, tradies, or guests who don't have the app.
📡 Gateway & Remote Access
What is a gateway and do I need one?
A gateway is a small Wi-Fi bridge device that connects your lock to the internet. Without a gateway, you can only control the lock when your phone is within Bluetooth range (about 3–5 metres).

With a gateway: control your lock from anywhere in the world, receive real-time notifications, and use Alexa/Google Home voice control.

Recommended gateways: G2GWUSB, G5GWUSB, or G4GW4G (available from Buckko Locks).
How do I set up a Wi-Fi gateway?
1

Plug the gateway into a power outlet near your lock (within Wi-Fi and Bluetooth range).

2

In the app, go to Profile → Add Gateway.

3

Make sure Bluetooth is on and you are near the gateway. The app will detect it automatically.

4

Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password.

5

Tap Connect. The gateway will link to your lock within 30 seconds.

💡 Place the gateway within 5 metres of the lock for the best Bluetooth signal.
How do I transfer a gateway to a new owner?
Go to Profile → Transfer Gateway → select the gateway → enter the new owner's email or phone → tap Transfer.
📋 Access History
How do I see who has accessed my lock?
Tap the lock on the Home screen → tap Records (or Activity). You'll see a full log including:
  • Who unlocked the door
  • What method they used (app, passcode, fingerprint, card, key)
  • Date and time of each event
  • Any failed attempts
Can I see failed unlock attempts?

🔧 Troubleshooting
The app can't find my lock via Bluetooth
  • Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
  • Move within 3 metres of the lock.
  • Restart Bluetooth (turn off and on).
  • Close and reopen the app.
  • Check the lock battery — low battery can prevent Bluetooth connection.
  • Make sure the lock is not already connected to another device.
Remote unlock isn't working
  • Check that your Wi-Fi gateway is plugged in and online (LED should be solid, not flashing).
  • Make sure the gateway is within range of both the lock and your Wi-Fi router.
  • Check your internet connection on your phone.
  • Try restarting the gateway by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
The lock battery is draining quickly
Frequent Bluetooth scanning and remote access can drain the battery faster. Try:
  • Using alkaline batteries (avoid rechargeable batteries).
  • Reducing how often you check lock status remotely.
  • Keeping the gateway close to reduce Bluetooth transmission power.
I shared access but the recipient can't see the lock
  • Make sure they have the Buckko Locks app installed.
  • Confirm they are logged in with the same email or phone number you sent the eKey to.
  • Ask them to pull down to refresh the Home screen.
  • Re-send the eKey if it still doesn't appear.
My passcode isn't working on the lock
  • Check the passcode is still valid (timed codes expire automatically).
  • Make sure you're entering the correct 6-digit code.
  • Check the lock battery — very low battery can prevent keypad input.
  • Delete the passcode and create a new one via the app (requires Bluetooth).
Alexa or Google Home can't control my lock
  • Confirm your Wi-Fi gateway is connected and online.
  • Re-link the TTLock skill (Alexa) or ScienerSmart (Google Home) with your Buckko Locks credentials.
  • Ask Alexa to discover devices again: "Alexa, discover devices."
  • In Google Home, go to your device settings and check it's still linked.
