Blue Nation Technology Pty Ltd trading as Buckko Locks ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Buckko Locks mobile application ("App").

We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information We Collect

a) Account Information
When you register, we collect your email address or mobile phone number and an encrypted password.

b) Device & Lock Data
We collect data about the smart locks you register, including lock names, battery status, access records, and gateway connectivity status.

c) Access Logs
The App records lock access events (who unlocked, when, and how) to provide you with an activity history.

d) Usage Data
We may collect anonymised usage data to improve the App's performance and user experience.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Buckko Locks service
  • Authenticate your identity and secure your account
  • Send you service-related notifications
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Improve and develop our App and services

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your data with:

  • Smart lock hardware providers solely to enable lock functionality
  • Service providers who assist us in operating the App, bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Law enforcement or government authorities when required by Australian law

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including AES 256-bit encryption of passwords and secure HTTPS communication for all data in transit. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Access logs are retained for up to 12 months. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data (available in-app via Settings → Delete Account)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

9. Third-Party Services

The App uses TTLock cloud services (operated by Sciener Smart Technology Co., Ltd) to store and process lock data. By using this App, you also agree to TTLock's privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
